Role overview
The Human Resources department is looking to fill a Payroll Specialist position in Düsseldorf. The role focuses on handling payroll activities, maintaining key employee and payroll records, supporting internal and external stakeholders, and improving payroll processes in collaboration with ADP and other interfaces.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and process the monthly payroll run.
- Maintain and verify master data and transaction data relevant to payroll.
- Serve as a point of contact for employees, social insurance institutions, and public authorities on payroll-related matters.
- Review travel expense claims and ensure they are correctly transferred into payroll processing.
- Generate certificates, reports, evaluations, and statistical outputs.
- Support audits and inspections, including reviews by tax authorities and social insurance bodies.
- Continuously improve payroll workflows together with ADP and internal stakeholders.
Candidate profile
- Completed commercial vocational training along with several years of experience in payroll or salary administration.
- Solid knowledge of income tax, social security, employment law, and IG Metall collective agreements.
- Experience handling travel expense settlements under BMTV and the travel expense regulation.
- Confident use of payroll accounting software; experience with ADP Paisy is an advantage.
- Very good German language skills.
- Strong command of MS Office, especially Excel.
- Good communication and teamwork skills, a confident manner, and a proactive working style in coordinating between the company, service providers, and employees.
