Job Summary
ALFIRAS General Contracting is looking for a skilled Payroll Officer to oversee payroll operations from start to finish for a very large construction workforce. The role requires someone who can manage payroll for more than 3,000 employees across both labor and staff categories while ensuring timely salary disbursement, correct overtime handling, leave administration, and adherence to UAE employment regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Run the monthly payroll cycle for 3,000+ employees accurately and on schedule.
- Compute pay components such as base salary, allowances, overtime, deductions, leave pay, end-of-service benefits, and full and final settlements.
- Keep employee payroll records, attendance data, and timesheets current and accurate.
- Work out annual leave, leave encashment, unpaid leave, sick leave, and related leave benefits.
- Review overtime entries and ensure they align with company rules and UAE Labour Law.
- Work closely with HR and project teams to confirm employee details and payroll inputs are correct.
- Compile payroll summaries, salary reconciliation reports, and management-level reports.
- Administer employee advances, loans, deductions, and reimbursement payments.
- Ensure payroll activities comply with WPS (Wage Protection System) requirements and all statutory obligations.
- Respond to payroll questions and resolve discrepancies quickly.
- Support audits and provide payroll records and supporting documents when needed.
- Safeguard the confidentiality of payroll and compensation information at all times.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a similar discipline.
- At least 5 years of payroll experience in the UAE, ideally in the construction sector.
- Solid understanding of UAE Labour Law, leave rules, overtime calculations, gratuity, and final settlement processing.
- Hands-on experience using payroll systems, ERP platforms, and Microsoft Excel at an advanced level is preferred.
- Strong analytical ability, numerical accuracy, and problem-solving skills.

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates.
