Job Purpose

The Payroll Officer is responsible for accurate payroll processing, payroll costing, and compliance with UAE labor laws and statutory requirements. The role includes preparing payroll cost analysis, budgeting support, and maintaining strict confidentiality of employee compensation data.

The role involves several key areas:

Payroll Processing

  • Process monthly payroll accurately and punctually.
  • Ensure payroll processing adheres to Wage Protection System (WPS) requirements.
  • Maintain comprehensive payroll records, including salaries, allowances, deductions, and benefits.
  • Calculate overtime, bonuses, leave pay, and end-of-service benefits.

Payroll Costing & Reporting

  • Generate detailed payroll costing reports, broken down by department and company-wide.
  • Analyze employee-related costs, encompassing salaries, benefits, and accruals.
  • Support payroll budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Provide cost reports to the Finance and Management teams to aid decision-making.
  • Reconcile payroll data with financial records and the general ledger.

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure adherence to UAE Labour Law and company policies.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all payroll and costing information.
  • Support statutory reporting and audit processes.
  • Collaborate with the Finance department to ensure accurate accounting entries.

Coordination & Support

  • Work closely with the HR department to update employee data for new hires, terminations, and salary changes.
  • Address employee inquiries concerning payroll and compensation.
  • Assist with final settlements and gratuity calculations.
  • Ensure proper documentation and internal controls are established and maintained.

Qualifications & Experience

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, HR, or a related field, with 3–5 years of payroll experience. Prior experience in the UAE is preferred. A strong understanding of payroll costing and budgeting, familiarity with WPS and UAE Labour Law, and experience with payroll systems like Oracle Fusion are essential.
