Key Responsibilities
- Book patient visits using scheduling software and related systems.
- Answer incoming calls from patients and assess their needs so they can be scheduled promptly.
- Match patients with the correct physician according to established criteria.
- Collect and refresh insurance details and explain expected financial responsibilities to patients.
- Coordinate with providers and internal staff to ensure scheduling needs are handled smoothly.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or an equivalent credential is required.
- At least 6 months of appointment scheduling experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.
- Intermediate-level computer proficiency is needed.
- Strong customer service ability and professional communication skills, both written and verbal, are important.
- Excellent organization and close attention to detail are required.
Preferred Background
- Prior work in healthcare, especially in scheduling or administrative support, is a plus.
- Experience handling conflict effectively is preferred.
- Comfort working in multiple systems at the same time is beneficial.
