Role overview

Higgins is expanding its maintenance team in the Levin area and is seeking a skilled, driven Operator who takes pride in producing quality outcomes and helping keep essential community infrastructure in good condition.

Key duties

• Use excavators and other civil construction and roading machinery.
• Complete stabilised pavement repairs, dig outs, drainage tasks, concrete work, slip remediation, and small-scale earthworks.
• Work alongside the crew on site while maintaining high standards of safety and workmanship.
• Help organise the day’s workload and coordinate the resources needed to get the job done.

What you need

• Appropriate licences, including Class 2 and WTR.
• At least 3 years of experience operating excavators, rollers, and brooms.
• Background in civil construction or road maintenance.
• Availability to work on an on-call roster.
• Knowledge of RAMM is an advantage, though not essential.
• A practical, dependable, and adaptable approach, with the willingness to work in all weather conditions.
