Description de l'emploi

Role overview

The Singapore Middle Office at Neuberger handles a broad set of support activities, including cash and position reconciliations, break investigation and resolution, trade life cycle oversight, broker setup, onboarding for new products and clients, and other ad hoc operational work.

This opening is focused on reconciliation work, with the Fixed Income and Equity cash and position reconciliation and break resolution functions being centralized in Singapore. The role calls for someone who can work independently as well as collaboratively, stay composed under pressure, and organize priorities according to deadlines, product risk, and account location.

What you will do

  • Enter all required cash items manually into the portfolio management platform, including fees, interest, tax, STIF, client movements, and similar entries.
  • Complete daily cash reconciliation for the prior business day, including balances and transactions, and publish tradable cash balances after reconciliation across all currencies and Equity/Fixed Income accounts.
  • Allocate breaks to the relevant global middle office teams for review and closure.
  • Track and manage breaks actively by following up with global teams, especially on high-risk or long-outstanding items that need urgent attention.
  • Watch for recurring patterns and operational issues, then investigate root causes and develop practical fixes.
  • Escalate actual or possible issues quickly when they could create financial, regulatory, or reputational risk.
  • Resolve questions raised by front office or support teams in a timely manner.
  • Perform daily position reconciliations for all Equity and Fixed Income accounts in the portfolio management system.
  • Assign position breaks to global middle office teams and keep following up until resolved.
  • Support ongoing process redesign efforts to keep controls and workflows effective.
  • Prepare end-of-day reporting for cash and position reconciliation activity as needed.
  • Work closely with custodians on day-to-day matters, including service levels and SWIFT message quality.
  • Support products such as Fixed Income, FX, and Bank Loans, so familiarity with these instruments is important.
  • Help with account onboarding so the system is ready for day-one operations and custody SWIFT mappings are in place.
  • Reconcile daily positions against the company’s internal accounting systems.
  • Use Microsoft Excel effectively, and experience with programming languages such as Python is preferred.

What we are looking for

  • A bachelor’s degree in any discipline; a background in finance, accounting, or business is helpful but not mandatory.
  • About 3 to 5 years of experience in operations, preferably in asset management or financial services.
  • Curiosity and a willingness to build strong knowledge of financial products, systems, trading approaches, and client requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for dealing with portfolio managers, traders, custodian banks, and trustees.
  • A meticulous approach and the ability to remain calm and effective in busy situations.
  • A collaborative mindset, paired with ownership of the accuracy and quality of your own work.
  • Strong organisation, analytical thinking, and resourcefulness, with the ability to prioritise competing deadlines.
  • Initiative and an improvement mindset, including the confidence to propose better ways of working.
  • Comfort with Microsoft Office, especially advanced Excel features such as formulas, macros, and pivot tables.
  • Helpful exposure to Bloomberg, Geneva, or Power BI.
  • Preferred knowledge of Aladdin and programming.
