Description de l'emploi

About the Role

Somerset Advisory is a fee-only fiduciary RIA that centers its work on strong client relationships and disciplined financial planning. The firm operates in the southeastern U.S. with offices in Charlottesville, Birmingham, and Beaufort, and it is intentionally built to stay lean. Team members are trusted with meaningful responsibility and expected to use sound judgment.

The Executive Scheduler will partner closely with the two founding principals to oversee calendars, coordinate communication, and help maintain the firm’s day-to-day operating rhythm. The position suits someone who notices what is not being said, plans ahead instead of waiting to be told, and handles both internal and external relationships with care.

Our Culture

Somerset’s approach is guided by four core commitments that influence both client service and internal collaboration.

Always Relational: The firm builds around people rather than products. Internally, that means treating teammates as whole people and communicating with empathy, especially during difficult periods.

Thoughtfully Organic: Growth is purposeful, not forced. The company expands only when the relationships and fit make sense, and hiring follows the same principle.

Unapologetically Active: Somerset believes active portfolio management and active client engagement are essential. The same expectation applies to support roles across the business.

Actually Comprehensive: The CLARITIES planning framework looks beyond investments to the full financial picture. People who thrive here tend to be curious, wide-ranging in their thinking, and comfortable with complexity.

The firm also values team retreats, milestone celebrations, and investment in the people who contribute to its success. If you enjoy being the quiet force that helps something excellent run smoothly, this environment may be a strong fit.

Responsibilities

  • Manage demanding calendars for two founding partners, including coordination across time zones and multiple office locations.
  • Interpret emails, meeting notes, and conversations to identify scheduling needs ahead of time without waiting for direct instruction.
  • Act as an initial contact for clients, prospects, and internal colleagues while maintaining warmth and professionalism.
  • Arrange meeting logistics, business travel, and client event coordination.
  • Update and maintain CRM records using information from calls, emails, and meeting outcomes.
  • Prepare or communicate messages on behalf of the principals when needed.
  • Assist with broader administrative and operational tasks as the firm expands into additional markets.

Requirements

  • Background in executive scheduling, administration, or client coordination.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities calmly and make thoughtful decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent written communication skills with a tone that is clear, polished, and approachable.
  • Comfort using CRM systems, calendar management tools, and standard workplace communication software.
  • Strong emotional awareness and the ability to adapt communication style to the situation.
  • Respect for confidentiality when handling sensitive client and company information.
  • Exposure to financial services is beneficial, though not mandatory; curiosity about the field is important.

Location

Candidates are preferred from areas near the firm’s offices in Charlottesville, VA; Birmingham, AL; and Beaufort, SC, or from growth markets including Nashville, TN; Palm Beach, FL; Charleston, SC; and Jackson Hole, WY. Depending on location and overall fit, the role can be remote or hybrid.

What We Offer

  • Pay that is competitive and aligned with experience.
  • Team retreats and a workplace that deliberately invests in connection.
  • A culture that prioritizes judgment over rigid compliance and relationships over transactions.
  • Room to expand with a company that is at an intentional growth stage.

Equal Opportunity

Somerset Advisory is an equal opportunity employer and aims to build a team that reflects the communities it serves.
