Role overview
Stevenage Borough Council is seeking a Museum Technician to support the day-to-day running of the museum site in Stevenage, England. This part-time, permanent position is based onsite and requires 10 working hours per week.
Pay and employment details
The salary range for this position is £26,824 to £29,540 per annum, adjusted on a pro-rata basis for the hours worked.

What the role involves
The Museum Technician will be responsible for opening the building from Wednesday to Friday, so an early start is essential. The role also covers the upkeep, maintenance, and security of the museum building and its storage areas.
The museum regularly updates its exhibitions and displays, and the technician plays a vital part in making these changes happen. Duties may include decorating walls, installing pictures, ensuring technology is working properly, and supporting the wider team where needed. There may also be occasional conservation-related tasks.
What you will bring
This position is well suited to someone who is adaptable, practical, and confident with DIY tasks. You should have a solid understanding of health and safety, along with a creative, hands-on attitude and good problem-solving ability.
A full driving licence is mandatory for this role. The successful applicant will also need to pass a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
