Description de l'emploi
Role overview
The Strategic Planning team is seeking a motivated professional to help shape the future direction of Singapore’s tourism sector. In this role, you will contribute to Tourism 2040 by identifying growth opportunities, assessing risks, and developing medium- to long-range strategies. You will also support efforts to guide the broader direction of the sector, work with internal teams on major strategic initiatives, and track global tourism developments such as connectivity trends and geopolitical shifts. Part of the work will also involve preparing for major disruptions, including events similar to pandemics or geopolitical shocks.
Key work areas
- Collaborate with government agencies such as MTI and MND/URA, as well as STB’s Analytics and Insights team, to review historical tourism performance and build both short-term and long-range forecasts while considering manpower and resource limits.
- Partner with MTI and STB business units to assess how policy adjustments or geopolitical developments may affect Singapore’s tourism industry.
- Work with STB line teams to define performance targets for key tourism indicators so they support Tourism 2040 goals and align with the sector-wide objectives.
- Look beyond the immediate planning horizon to spot emerging trends, blind spots, competitive threats, and new growth possibilities that may influence the future of Singapore tourism through futures planning work.
- Support quarterly reporting on KPIs, industry outlook, and related updates to MTI.
- Coordinate with MTI on reporting platforms and updates for senior management, including discussions on STB priorities and KPIs.
- Help organise annual corporate planning cycles for senior management and business units so that workplans remain aligned across the organisation.
Working relationships
You will interact widely across STB business teams and gain a strong understanding of the tourism landscape and operating environment. The role also involves close collaboration with MTI and other government agencies, offering exposure to how economic agencies work together to support Singapore’s wider economic development.
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate should have 3 to 8 years of work experience and be comfortable working independently. Strong verbal and written communication skills are important, along with the ability to think strategically, connect information across different areas, and analyse data sets effectively. You should demonstrate sound business judgement, solid analytical thinking, and the ability to work productively with both internal and external stakeholders. The role also calls for a service-oriented mindset, commitment, purpose, innovation, and continuous learning.
Application note
Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted, and this will be done within 2 weeks from the closing date of the posting.
