Role overview
Dangote Petroleum & Petrochemicals is hiring a Market & Data Analyst to support commercial decision-making in Zambia. The role focuses on market intelligence, forecasting, pricing analysis, performance tracking, customer insights, and data strategy improvement.
Key responsibilities
- Collect, combine, and interpret information on the market and competitors to help shape and execute strategy.
- Assist with weekly and monthly forecasting activities as well as demand planning.
- Track pricing trends and analyse margins in both domestic and export markets.
- Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports for country and group-level reporting.
- Analyse customer and segment performance to guide both strategic and operational actions.
- Design and implement a stronger data strategy, including automation and modelling.
Education and experience
- A bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent qualification, in business, economics, statistics, or a related field is required.
- A Full Grade 12 School Certificate is required.
- Applicants should have strong skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, MySQL, and Power BI.
- The role calls for at least 4 to 5 years of relevant work experience.
Skills and behaviours
- Working understanding of the trends, issues, opportunities, laws, and regulations affecting the cement manufacturing sector.
- Sound knowledge of the company’s products and service portfolio.
- Strong administrative ability with a structured, detail-focused approach and good use of technology.
- Clear and effective communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving ability.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Competence with Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
