Role Overview
Our client is a long-standing supplier of lumber and building materials supporting residential and multi-family construction work in Calgary, Alberta. They are looking for a well-organized, self-assured, and proactive Inventory & Logistics Coordinator to become part of the operations team.
This position sits at the center of day-to-day inventory and logistics activity. The person in this role will help ensure deliveries are scheduled efficiently, loads are arranged effectively, stock records remain accurate, and materials move through the business in a smooth, timely way.

Receiving and Inventory Control
- Accept incoming materials and confirm they match purchase orders and packing slips.
- Check deliveries for damage and quantity accuracy when they arrive.
- Enter received items into the ERP system promptly and correctly.
- Keep inventory balances and stock records up to date.
- Look into differences between physical counts and system records.
- Support cycle counts and full inventory reconciliation activities.
- Partner with yard personnel to keep materials moving and the yard organized.
Logistics and Dispatch Coordination
- Organize daily truck routes so deliveries are as efficient as possible and arrive on time.
- Allocate loads and set shipment priorities according to urgency and available capacity.
- Stay in clear communication with drivers, yard staff, sales, and operations teams.
- Give respectful, professional direction to support day-to-day workflow.
- Track outgoing shipments to maintain accuracy and punctual delivery.
- Resolve routing, scheduling, or delivery problems as they arise.
- Assist with fleet coordination and delivery execution each day.
Operational Support
- Regularly review logistics and inventory processes to find better ways of working.
- Keep records, reports, and documentation organized.
- Follow company safety expectations and operational procedures.
- Work with operations leadership to improve workflow, communication, and overall efficiency.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in logistics coordination, dispatch, shipping and receiving, transportation planning, or inventory coordination. They should bring strong organization, the ability to handle several priorities at once, and the confidence to communicate clearly and professionally.
This role also calls for someone who stays calm under pressure, makes decisions quickly, and focuses on practical solutions. A solid grasp of inventory control, material movement, and ERP or inventory software is important, along with attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership.
Forklift certification would be a valuable asset. Experience in lumber, building materials, distribution, or construction is helpful but not mandatory.
