Role overview
The Linen Keeper is responsible for managing the ship’s stock of linen and terry items. This position works closely with Suite Hosts, the Laundry team, and the Tailor to keep operations running smoothly.
Key duties
- Maintain control of the PAR levels for linen, tablecloths, napkins, and towels used on board.
- Monitor how linen is distributed and consumed each day across sections and outlets.
- Track special pillows and baby cribs delivered to guests throughout the voyage.
- Oversee the quantities of linen used by the HK Hotel for both guests and crew by preparing or supervising packed amounts per shift for each Suite Host and Public Area Attendant.
- Support the Tailor and Laundry team whenever operational needs require it.
- Take responsibility for the monthly PAR count of all linen and terry items currently in use and stored in the Linen store and main laundry, carrying out the inventory with the Laundry Master and Hotel team.
- Help with luggage loading when requested by the Housekeeper.
- Attend daily team meetings and comply with public health requirements.
- Remain adaptable and take on tasks assigned by the Housekeeping Manager.
Candidate profile
A High School diploma or an equivalent qualification is preferred. Previous cruise ship experience is considered an advantage. The role requires physical capability to climb, bend, repeat movements, and occasionally lift heavy items. Candidates should be comfortable using computers and the MS Office suite and must be fluent in both spoken and written English.
