The Light Duty Cleaner is responsible for routine cleaning and upkeep of assigned areas. Typical work includes hard floor care, vacuuming carpeted spaces, dusting, and cleaning washrooms and kitchenette areas, along with collecting garbage and recycling.

Core duties

  • Attend all mandatory training sessions.
  • Follow company health and safety rules at all times.
  • Sweep, dry mop, wash, and buff floors and stairwells using manual or powered scrubbing equipment as needed.
  • Vacuum carpets and floor mats in offices and shared areas, spot clean daily, and shampoo rugs when instructed.
  • Perform basic preventive care on floor machines, vacuum cleaners, automatic scrubbers, and buffers.
  • Empty waste and recycling containers, change liners, and move materials to the designated collection point as required by the site.
  • Fully clean washrooms and kitchens/kitchenettes, including disinfecting and polishing fixtures, appliances, handles, walls, mirrors, countertops, partitions, waste bins, and floors.
  • Restock consumables such as toilet paper, paper towels, soap, and sanitizer.
  • Remove marks and smudges from walls, doors, kick plates, and other vertical surfaces.
  • Clean elevators where applicable.
  • Report potential maintenance issues such as clogged urinals or burnt-out lights.
  • Carry out high dusting, wall washing, and other assigned tasks.
