Leasing Specialist

Job Summary

The Leasing Specialist oversees leasing activity across residential, commercial, or industrial properties. The role is centered on drawing in qualified tenants, keeping occupancy strong, and delivering a positive tenant experience while helping maximize property income.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle routine leasing tasks and manage day-to-day interactions with tenants.
• Promote available units and spaces through different marketing channels to generate leads.
• Show properties to prospective tenants and reply to leasing-related questions.
• Assess applicants, including conducting background and credit verification.
• Draft lease contracts and negotiate terms in line with company guidelines.
• Track rent payments, follow up on overdue balances, and support timely collection.
• Respond to tenant concerns and resolve issues in a prompt, courteous manner.
• Work with maintenance staff to keep properties in good condition.
• Keep leasing files, agreements, and records accurate and up to date.
• Watch market conditions and suggest ways to improve occupancy performance.
• Make sure all leasing activities comply with local property and real estate regulations.

Qualifications & Skills

The position calls for a background in real estate, business administration, or a similar discipline, along with prior exposure to leasing, property management, or real estate work. Strong communication, sales, negotiation, organization, and multitasking abilities are important, as is familiarity with leasing rules and property legislation. Candidates should also be comfortable using MS Office and property management software.
