Role overview
McKinsey & Company is hiring a Knowledge Analyst for its Operations & Procurement function in Riyadh. This position sits within the Client Capabilities Office and the Centre of Procurement Excellence, supporting procurement work that helps clients build stronger purchasing and supply management capabilities.
What the role involves
You will contribute to end-to-end procurement improvement efforts focused on delivering lasting value. The work spans strategic sourcing, global sourcing, supplier collaboration, innovation, procure-to-pay processes, organization design, and capability building across industries such as Banking & Financial Services, Basic Materials, Consumer Goods, Retail, Pharmaceuticals, and Travel, Transport & Logistics.
The role is a global, cross-industry position with client service responsibilities in the EEMA region. It involves substantial travel to client locations and regular engagement with client teams on workstreams for specific categories.
Key contributions
You will help client-serving teams with focused analysis and problem-solving on procurement topics. Typical work includes spend analysis, total cost of ownership and should-cost modeling, contract review, supplier identification, savings idea development, sourcing strategy, RFQ management and analysis, negotiation planning, and tracking mechanisms. You will also assist with client proposals and broader business development efforts.
In addition, you will support the creation and upkeep of procurement knowledge assets such as tools, fact packs, case studies, primers, and other capability-building materials.

Requirements
Candidates should bring a strong procurement and consulting-oriented background, along with the technical and analytical skills needed to support complex client work.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technology is required; a master’s degree is preferred, and an MBA in operations is considered an advantage.
- At least 3 years of experience in procurement or consulting is needed.
- Hands-on knowledge of sourcing, supplier management, category management, costing, negotiations, and purchase order management is expected.
- Experience with e-procurement solutions such as spend analysis tools, RFQ platforms, costing tools, and e-auction systems is a plus.
- Strong command of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and relevant analytics or statistical software is required.
- Applicants should be comfortable diagnosing problems, identifying root causes, and developing practical solutions.
- A solid grasp of business fundamentals, including economic and financial concepts, is important.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills are essential, along with curiosity and the ability to work well in teams.

This position is a full-time onsite role based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The work is not limited to one country or industry and may require frequent travel. The compensation is described as competitive, but no fixed amount is stated.
