Kenfix Technician

About the Role

This position is part of the Engineering & Facilities team at a hotel property in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates. The role is full-time and based onsite. It is a non-management position focused on keeping guest areas, equipment, and building systems operating smoothly and safely.

What You Will Do

• Handle guest maintenance requests promptly and work with guests and customers to resolve repair concerns.
• Carry out preventive upkeep on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical-room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Inspect tools, machines, and equipment visually to spot issues early.
• Move and use required equipment such as tools and radios.
• Locate and operate shut-off valves and utility shut-offs for equipment and the building.
• Track maintenance stock and request parts and supplies when needed.
• Share daily work updates and any issues with other shifts using approved communication methods.
• Build working knowledge of air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic controls, carpentry, finish work, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy-saving practices, and general building systems.
• Complete surface prep, painting, minor drywall and wood-trim repairs, light bulb changes, A/C filter replacement, and full cleanup after work is done.
• Test, diagnose, and complete basic repairs on plumbing, electrical items, guestroom equipment, cosmetic fixtures, extension cords, vacuum cleaners, internet devices, switches, outlets, and related items.
• Program TVs and perform general housekeeping and engineering inventory tasks.
• Use the Lockout/Tagout process before beginning maintenance work.
• Repair interior and exterior landscaping systems, including sprinkler-related work.
• Use basic computer functions such as entering air-handler schedules and adjusting temperatures.
• Follow safety, security, and company procedures; report hazards, incidents, injuries, or maintenance issues; complete required safety training and certifications; and store flammable materials correctly.
• Maintain a clean, professional appearance and protect confidential information and company property.
• Greet and assist guests according to brand standards, including supporting guests with disabilities and responding to service needs with courtesy.
• Work closely with teammates, communicate clearly, and contribute to a cooperative, goal-oriented environment.
• Meet physical demands such as lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing stairs or ladders, and working in bent, twisted, or overhead positions.
• Use computers to enter and retrieve work-related information and complete any other reasonable duties assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• Some background in general maintenance is preferred.
• Experience with surface preparation and painting, both interior and exterior, is preferred.
• Prior hotel engineering or maintenance experience is an added advantage.
• No previous supervisory experience is required.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
