About the Role
The Ninth Judicial Circuit Court in Central Florida is looking for a Jury Services Assistant to help manage jury-related operations in Orange County. This role supports the full jury process, from juror intake through panel preparation, and is suited to someone who enjoys detailed administrative work in a public service environment.

What You Will Do
You will assist with multiple parts of jury management, including processing jurors, preparing reports, and supporting jury selection activities. The role involves direct interaction with jurors and coordination with court staff and judges.
- Welcome jurors, administer the oath, and lead juror orientation sessions.
- Support jury intake, empaneling, dismissal, and other steps in the jury selection workflow.
- Prepare administrative and clerical materials needed to supply jurors to courtrooms.
- Create and maintain required reports.
- Handle incoming correspondence by mail and email, including filing and response tasks.
- Respond to walk-in and phone inquiries in a courteous and accurate manner.
- Review and process juror exemption requests, sort mail based on exemption statutes, and coordinate related actions with the reviewing judge.
- Notify jurors by mail, phone, or email when exemption requests are denied.
- Enter juror information accurately into the Jury Management System so panels can be delivered to courtrooms for final selection.
- Process juror payroll and work with the Clerk’s Office to ensure jurors receive proper compensation when needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of progressively responsible secretarial experience.
- Strong computer proficiency and the ability to learn multiple software tools quickly.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to build effective working relationships with judges, coworkers, and partner staff.
- High attention to detail, professionalism, discretion, and self-motivation.
- Comfort using Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to use internet resources as needed to complete job duties.
- Bilingual ability is preferred.
- Experience in jury services, legal work, or clerical support is considered an advantage.
- The employee may also be asked to carry out other job-related tasks as assigned.
