Junior Business Analyst

Role Overview

Knight Insurance Group, a privately held property and casualty insurer with more than $1.7 billion in total assets, is hiring a Junior Business Analyst for its Los Angeles office. This is an in-person position focused on risk and data, with an emphasis on improving how work gets done through analysis, automation, and better use of technology.

The pay range for this role is $60,000 to $80,000 per year. The actual starting salary will depend on several factors at the time of hiring, including location, skills, experience, education, credentials, and any required licensure.

What You Will Do

• Review operational processes to spot bottlenecks and inefficiencies, then recommend improvements backed by data.
• Use SQL and Python to automate repetitive tasks and help shorten processing time.
• Assist with software or system rollouts by collecting business needs, supporting testing, and recording updates to workflows.
• Create reports and dashboards in Excel and SQL to track performance metrics and support business decisions.
• Work with teams across the organization to solve problems, improve internal tools, and raise overall process efficiency.

What We Are Looking For

• A bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Operations, or another related analytical discipline.
• Working knowledge of SQL, Python, and Excel for reporting, analysis, and automation.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability with a focus on operational improvements.
• Clear written and spoken communication skills for collaborating with different teams and documenting solutions.
• Good organizational habits and the ability to manage several tasks or cases at once.
• Prior exposure to insurance is preferred.
• A basic understanding of accounting or finance concepts is preferred, especially if supported by projects, internships, or work related to accounting operations or business processes.
