Role overview
Zahr Freighters is looking for a careful and driven Junior Accountant to join its finance team in Dubai. This position suits an early-career accounting professional who wants to grow while handling core finance tasks, keeping records accurate, and supporting routine accounting work within a busy freight and logistics setting.
Key responsibilities
- Enter and track day-to-day financial transactions and keep accounting records up to date.
- Handle invoices, receipts, payment vouchers, and reimbursement or expense claim processing.
- Support both payables and receivables activities.
- Match bank statements with records and check transactions for accuracy.
- Help prepare monthly reports and account reconciliations.
- Keep finance files and documentation well arranged.
- Assist with VAT documentation and compliance-related work.
- Support the team in preparing for internal and external audits.
- Work with different departments to gather and confirm financial details.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a similar discipline is required.
- Applicants should have 1–2 years of accounting experience; candidates who have recently graduated but have a solid grasp of accounting may also be considered.
- Good knowledge of accounting basics and financial reporting is needed.
- Strong MS Office skills, particularly in Excel, are important.
- Experience with accounting software will be an added advantage.
- Applicants must have strong numerical and analytical abilities.
- High attention to detail and good organizational skills are expected.
