Description de l'emploi
About the role
Ore Group is hiring a Junior Accountant / Accounts Payable for its junior mining business. The company is a natural resources organization with several TSXV-listed entities, and this role is a chance to join an ambitious, expanding group focused on building a portfolio of assets. The position reports to the Controller and involves close coordination with the executive team on everyday bookkeeping, quarterly and annual reporting, and broader financial management.
This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who wants exposure to the many sides of accounting within exploration and development businesses, along with insight into how junior mining companies are financed in Canada. The role also offers the chance to grow with the organization and gradually take on more responsibility.
What you will do
- Oversee the monthly accounts payable process, making sure supplier payments are made on time and bank reconciliations are completed accurately.
- Support the accounting cycle end to end, including month-end close, non-routine accounting entries, and quarterly reporting.
- Help with the annual audit by preparing documents and addressing questions from auditors.
- Maintain strong internal controls by ensuring approvals and supporting documentation are in place.
- Look for better ways of working by identifying opportunities to improve processes through workflow automation and AI-enabled tools.
- Handle questions from vendors and internal team members.
- Prepare regulatory filings and assist with special assignments as needed.
What the company is looking for
- Post-secondary study in Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping, or a related discipline.
- Some prior experience in accounts payable or accounting.
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines in a busy environment.
- A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Willingness to work longer hours during reporting cycles.
- Strong Excel ability; experience with QuickBooks Online is considered an advantage.
Additional information
The role provides broad exposure to accounting functions, including payroll support, in a collaborative and fast-moving setting. Ore Group highlights strong team support, room to grow internally, direct access to industry leaders, and the possibility of career progression over time. Compensation is competitive and includes participation in stock option programs.
