Role Overview
We are looking for a junior IT Support Officer who is eager to help users, solve technical issues, and keep everyday technology running smoothly across the organisation. This is a hands-on role for someone with a customer-first approach and a strong interest in building practical IT experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for issues involving hardware, software, and general system support.
- Set up, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and common business software.
- Help manage network access, user accounts, and permissions for staff.
- Record, monitor, and resolve support requests in a prompt and professional way.
- Diagnose technical problems and pass more complex matters to the right team when needed.
- Provide friendly, effective assistance to employees needing IT help.
- Assist with routine maintenance tasks, updates, backups, and basic security processes.
- Keep technical notes up to date and contribute to internal support documentation and knowledge articles.
Requirements
- Foundational understanding of computer hardware, software, operating systems, and networking basics.
- Good troubleshooting ability and a logical approach to problem-solving.
- Strong verbal and written communication with a customer-service mindset.
- Capability to juggle several requests and priorities at once.
- Exposure to Microsoft Office and standard workplace applications is beneficial.
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and build technical capability over time.
- Ability to work on your own as well as cooperate effectively with colleagues.
