ICU Staff Nurse

RG Stone Urology & Laparoscopy Hospital is looking for a Staff Nurse for the ICU/Nursing department in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. The role reports to the Intensivist or Anesthetist and is focused on providing attentive, safe, and clinically sound care to critically ill patients.

Primary responsibilities

• Monitor patient vital signs closely and respond with timely clinical action when needed.
• Create, carry out, and review care plans based on each patient’s condition and needs.
• Recognize possible complications early, including infection, bleeding, or breathing-related issues, and act to prevent further decline.
• Assess pain levels and administer prescribed pain relief as directed.
• Maintain strict hygiene and safety practices to reduce the spread of infection and protect patient well-being.
• Offer reassurance and emotional support to patients and their families during high-stress situations.
• Record all treatments, patient responses, and condition changes accurately and in detail.
• Track medicine and consumable stocks, ensuring required supplies remain available in adequate quantity.
• Verify that biomedical equipment is working properly and keep the relevant checklists updated.
• Maintain readiness and proper upkeep of the crash cart trolley.
• Prepare ICU patients for discharge once stable and provide discharge guidance.
• Document recovery progress, interventions, and other important observations throughout the care process.
• Take part in ongoing quality improvement initiatives and training sessions.

Requirements

• Diploma in Nursing or B.Sc. Nursing.
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in ICU or HDU.
• Ability to handle emergency medical equipment with confidence.
• Strong attention to detail in patient monitoring and documentation.
• Knowledge of infection control, patient safety, and critical care routines.
