Role Overview
The Human Resource Officer will report directly to the CEO and take charge of coordinating and rolling out the company’s HR operations. The role exists to help the organization attract capable talent, build employee capability, keep staff engaged, and support retention while preserving a positive and productive workplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage recruitment activities, employee onboarding, and induction programs.
- Keep employee files accurate and ensure HR records and documentation are properly maintained.
- Assist with performance management activities and staff development initiatives.
- Support disciplinary matters, grievance handling, and employee relations processes.
- Contribute to payroll support and compliance with statutory obligations.
- Track staff leave, including entitlement and balance updates, in coordination with team leaders.
- Monitor attendance, maintain records, and prepare related reports.
- Help develop, implement, and administer HR policies and procedures.
- Carry out exit interviews and coordinate handover and clearance for departing employees.
- Take on other related duties as assigned from time to time.
Qualifications and Experience
The position requires a bachelor’s degree in HR or a closely related area. The employer is looking for someone with around 3 years of experience in HR within the financial services sector or another service-based environment. A stronger advantage will go to candidates who hold IHRM membership.
Additional Requirements
Applicants should have a solid understanding of Kenya’s labour laws and HR policy requirements, along with practical strength in HR administration, recruitment, and employee relations.
