Role Summary
The Housekeeping Attendant is responsible for keeping guestrooms and assigned areas clean, orderly, and ready for guest use while following the brand’s service and hygiene standards.
Key Duties
- Clean guest rooms thoroughly, including dusting, making beds, removing used linen, collecting fresh linen, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, washing inside windows, and restocking room supplies according to brand standards.
- Place the cleaning-in-progress sign and keep room doors closed while servicing rooms.
- Contact room service to clear trays and trolleys from rooms.
- Use cleaning products and equipment correctly and responsibly.
- Provide accurate room status updates at the end of each shift.
- Keep linen storage, supply areas, and landings tidy and organized.
- Empty vacuum cleaners before they become too full.
- Escalate issues or uncertainties to the supervisor for the assigned floor.
- Assist guests and team members politely and professionally.
- Handle lifting, carrying, or pulling tasks as needed, including heavier items.
- Immediately hand over any lost and found items to security.
- Report rooms that are not to be serviced, including DND or unoccupied rooms, on the assigned floor.
- Notify the Floor Housekeeper about mattress protectors, blankets, bedspreads, or valances that need replacement.
- Report any suspicious individuals to the housekeeping office or security team.
- Flag any potential health and safety risks without delay.
- Maintain high standards of personal grooming and uniform presentation.
- Report malfunctioning equipment promptly.
- Follow all departmental policies and procedures.
- Carry out any other tasks assigned by the management team.
Qualifications
A high school diploma, vocational training, and/or at least one year of work experience is required. Strong written and spoken English is essential. Experience in a luxury hotel setting is an advantage but not mandatory. The role also calls for a warm, friendly personality, good people skills, and a strong commitment to personal cleanliness and grooming.
