Blind Veterans UK is a charity dedicated to supporting vision-impaired former service personnel from every generation so they can rebuild their lives after losing their sight, no matter when or how that happened. Role overview

An opportunity has opened for a Housekeeper to join the Rustington Centre on a permanent full-time basis. The post involves 37.5 hours of work each week and sits within a supportive environment focused on helping guests and service users feel safe, comfortable and welcomed.

What the role involves

You will contribute to the day-to-day running of the centre by delivering a reliable and thorough cleaning service. The work includes deep cleaning bedrooms, shared areas and facilities, managing laundry, preparing rooms for functions, and making sure waste and recycling are handled correctly. You will also respond promptly to requests from members and customers.

• Carry out deep cleaning across rooms, communal spaces and other facilities.
• Manage laundry tasks as required.
• Prepare accommodation and rooms for events and functions.
• Remove waste and recycling in line with site procedures.
• Keep shared spaces clear, tidy and safe.
• Work with catering and hospitality colleagues when setting up rooms for events.
• Respond to member and customer needs in a timely and professional way.

What is needed

The ideal candidate will already have cleaning experience gained in a care home or hotel environment. You should also be familiar with COSHH, infection control and manual handling, whether through previous work or formal training. In addition, your approach and behaviour should reflect the charity’s values and culture.
