Heavy Duty Steward

Role overview

Hollywood Casino Gulf Coast is hiring a Heavy Duty Steward to help keep back-of-house and guest-facing support areas clean, safe, and ready for daily operations. What you will do

• Carry out stewardship tasks as directed by the Lead Steward on duty, with duties subject to change when needed.
• Keep kitchen, prep, and dish areas clean and orderly, including equipment such as stoves, grills, hood systems, ovens, deep fryers, and fryer boil-out systems.
• Remove trash and garbage from operating areas and make sure containers are cleaned and relined.
• Clean mechanical equipment when required, including dishwashers, combi ovens, ice cream machines, and smokers.
• Follow company, department, OSHA, and ServSafe cleanliness and sanitation standards at all times.
• Maintain hygienic conditions in kitchens and food storage spaces by scrubbing floors and washing surfaces, walls, and ceiling tiles as needed.
• Move supplies and equipment between storage and work locations using carts or by carrying them safely.
• Help maintain safe working practices across all guest and service contact areas.
• Report to work in a presentable manner, wear company-issued uniforms, maintain strong personal hygiene, and help create a positive guest experience through warm, courteous interactions.

Requirements

• Candidate must be at least 21 years old.
• High school diploma or GED preferred, or 1 to 3 months of related experience/training, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively with guests and coworkers.
• Working understanding of OSHA rules and Right-to-Know requirements related to the MSDS book and applicable regulations.
• Physical ability to perform active work, including walking, standing, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling as needed.
• Must be able to occasionally lift and move items weighing up to 100 pounds.
• Vision abilities needed for the role include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, along with the ability to adjust focus.
• Work environment may include wet or humid conditions, moving machinery, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme heat, and possible electrical shock risk.
• Noise levels are generally moderate.
