Head of Cloud Platform Engineering

Role Overview

A Singapore public-sector organisation operating highly complex, business-critical technology environments is seeking a Head of Cloud Platform Engineering. In this position, you will lead the cloud architecture and platform capability, guide a team of cloud specialists, and shape technical direction across multi-cloud and hybrid estates.

What the Role Involves

You will work closely with internal teams and external vendors to introduce new cloud capabilities into large, interconnected systems. The role requires you to stay actively involved with architecture and platform execution, rather than operating only at a leadership level. You will also be responsible for strengthening security and compliance, improving cost and performance efficiency, and driving ongoing upgrades to existing platforms.

In addition, you will own the DevSecOps pipelines that control the movement of software from development through to production, and help unify platform engineering, cloud security, and data platform teams so they function as a single operating model instead of separate silos.

Experience and Environment

The organisation is looking for a senior cloud leader with more than 15 years of experience in cloud infrastructure and platform roles. A strong background in building or managing cloud platform functions at scale is expected, along with deep experience across multiple hyperscalers. Experience in regulated or public-sector settings would be highly valuable because governance and security are critical in this environment.

You should be comfortable both defining strategy and working hands-on, and able to explain technical trade-offs clearly to non-technical stakeholders who approve key decisions.
