Floor Technician

Compensation

The pay range for this position is $15.97 to $18.25 per hour. Any bonuses or additional incentives, where applicable, are handled separately according to the relevant programme schedule. Final pay offers may vary based on overall experience, relevant qualifications, location, and certifications or training.

Key duties

The floor technician will operate and maintain a variety of floor-cleaning machines and tools, carry out routine and restorative floor-care work, and help keep shared spaces clean and orderly. The role also includes handling waste removal, supporting disinfecting tasks, and responding promptly to maintenance issues while following safety and infection-control procedures.

Qualifications and job expectations

Applicants should have a high school education or GED, be able to use floor-care equipment such as buffers, burnishers, wet vacs, and auto scrubbers, and preferably bring at least one year of experience in a long-term care environment. The role also requires the ability to read labels and instructions, follow verbal and written directions, communicate respectfully with staff, residents, families, and visitors, and physically manage lifting, carrying, and moving items up to 50 lbs while remaining on their feet and mobile throughout the facility.
