Role overview
We are hiring a Field Service Supervisor for the Auckland branch to oversee heavy vehicle equipment repair and maintenance operations. This position is responsible for coordinating off-site work and leading a team of field service technicians.
What you will do
- Oversee the daily flow of field service activities and keep repair operations running smoothly.
- Organize, schedule, and assign all field repair jobs for the Auckland branch.
- Guide, support, and coach technicians, including remote supervision of repairs, reviewing completed work, and tracking productivity and performance.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with customers and suppliers.
- Offer technical assistance to team members as needed.
- Ensure the workplace remains safe and compliant with OH&S standards.
- Carry out job safety observations and review technicians’ JSAs each day.
- Perform quality inspections to confirm work standards are met.
- Look for and drive continuous improvement opportunities.
- Maintain good housekeeping, efficient workflow, and traffic management across the site.
- Provide remote assistance to technicians and customers across the Pacific Islands, including arranging tools and equipment and keeping communication active with offshore teams.
What you need to succeed
- Hands-on supervisory or team leadership experience, backed by a strong technical background, ideally in heavy diesel.
- Substantial experience working in a workshop environment with solid people management and leadership capability.
- A heavy vehicle qualification and exposure to mining environments will be viewed favorably.
- A strong drive to build a high-performing, professional team with a clear focus on safety and excellent customer service.
Compensation and benefits
Pay will be aligned to experience and paid at an hourly rate. The role also includes participation in an annual variable bonus scheme, annual pay reviews, discounts on selected PC software, hardware, and vehicles, plus safety gear, PPE, uniforms, and a range of personal and professional benefits.
