Position summary

This role is for a Field Service Engineer 3 focused on DeltaV DCS and cybersecurity support in Doha. The position covers advanced technical support across Emerson’s DeltaV Distributed Control System and related cybersecurity offerings, helping customers throughout the full service and project lifecycle. Work may include maintenance, resident engineer support, diagnostics, installation, commissioning, start-up, and resolving complex issues. The role serves as a central technical contact for customers and internal teams, with an emphasis on system reliability, performance, and stronger cybersecurity outcomes.

Key responsibilities

  • Act as the main technical contact for customer service contracts, project work, and support engagements.
  • Carry out advanced maintenance activities, troubleshooting, and system health checks in line with contractual and customer expectations.
  • Lead service and project execution, including surveys, design reviews, installation, commissioning, upgrades, and start-up support.
  • Perform and assist with cybersecurity assessments and on-site cybersecurity deployment activities.
  • Analyze and close out difficult technical issues, working with global support and engineering teams when needed.
  • Advise customers on ways to improve system reliability and overall performance.
  • Support resident engineer assignments, preventive maintenance, and emergency on-call coverage to meet response commitments.
  • Prepare and keep technical records up to date, such as architecture documents, functional design specifications, software design documents, and method statements.
  • Take part in factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, plant start-ups, and system upgrade activities.
  • Coach service engineers and technicians to build capability and share technical knowledge.
  • Spot potential service or product opportunities at customer locations and pass qualified leads to sales teams.
  • Follow company business processes, documentation standards, and all health, safety, and environmental requirements.

  • Exposure to IT/OT integration, networking, or industrial communication protocols is preferred.
