About the Property
Shangri-La Jeddah is a luxury waterfront hotel located on the new Jeddah Waterfront beside the Red Sea. The property is designed with expansive floor-to-ceiling windows, elegant interiors inspired by the sea and beach setting, and family-friendly spaces such as a supervised Kids Club and play area. The hotel features 203 rooms and suites, 17 serviced apartments, 4 restaurants and lounges including Shang Palace, close access to major Jeddah attractions and Red Sea Mall, and 116 privately owned Burj Assila Residences.
Role Summary
Shangri-La is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Executive Chef to define and lead the culinary direction of Shangri-La Jeddah. Reporting to the General Manager, this role covers all food operations across six outlets, two specialty restaurants, banquet functions, and in-room dining. The position plays a key part in delivering memorable guest experiences, maintaining high operational standards, and supporting strong commercial results.
Key Duties
- Set and protect the overall culinary standard across all outlets while balancing creativity with consistency.
- Guide, coach, and develop a strong kitchen team that works effectively together and delivers at a high level.
- Design fresh menus and seasonal offerings that fit the brand’s positioning and guest expectations.
- Oversee banquet production and service for large-scale events with accuracy and finesse.
- Manage food cost control, labor efficiency, and productivity without compromising quality.
- Maintain rigorous standards for hygiene, food safety, and environmentally responsible practices.
- Connect with guests, understand their preferences, and use feedback to improve the dining experience.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate brings at least 10 years of experience in international luxury hospitality and has already worked at Executive Chef level or in a similar senior culinary leadership role. Strong financial understanding, disciplined operations management, creativity, cultural awareness, and a genuine interest in guest interaction are essential. Fluency in English is required, and additional languages are considered a plus.
