Job Summary

The Environmental Service Worker I is responsible for keeping the facility clean, safe, and welcoming through routine cleaning, floor care, and waste handling in assigned locations. The position supports patient, staff, and visitor comfort by maintaining strong hygiene standards and following infection prevention and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean and disinfect assigned spaces such as patient rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas while following infection control procedures.
  • Carry out floor and surface cleaning by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting furniture, equipment, and floors using the proper tools and methods.
  • Maintain hard floors and carpeted areas by stripping, refinishing, and treating floors and upholstery according to department guidelines.
  • Wash walls, ceilings, windows, woodwork, door panels, and other surfaces to support a sanitary environment.
