Role Overview

This site-based EHS Business Partner position in Dungarvan is responsible for supporting a safe, compliant, and high-performing workplace. The role focuses on strengthening and maintaining the site’s Environment, Health & Safety management systems while aligning with Haleon requirements, legal obligations, and industry good practice.

Working as a technical expert, you will collaborate with site teams to strengthen safety culture, improve EHS outcomes, and reduce risk across engineering, manufacturing, and project activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion high standards of environment, health, and safety performance across the site.
  • Build, refresh, and implement EHS policies, procedures, and management systems.
  • Carry out risk assessments, hazard reviews, and safety evaluations.
  • Provide EHS training, toolbox talks, and awareness sessions for employees and contractors.
  • Perform site walkthroughs, audits, and compliance checks, and ensure corrective actions are completed.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses to identify root causes and preventive measures.
  • Ensure adherence to Haleon standards, local laws, and regulatory requirements.
  • Help design and support emergency response planning, drills, and readiness activities.
  • Work with site leadership, project teams, and contractors to reinforce a proactive safety mindset.
  • Keep EHS documentation, reports, and compliance records current and well-organised.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvement and risk reduction efforts throughout the site.
  • Represent the site in Haleon EHS communities of practice and cross-site forums.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or another related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in EHS, Health & Safety, or Safety Management.
  • Strong understanding of EHS legislation, regulatory obligations, and safety management systems.
  • Hands-on experience with risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety audits.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methods.
  • Well-developed stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Preferred: Chartered Member of IOSH (CMIOSH) or actively working toward chartered status.
  • Preferred: Background in manufacturing, engineering, pharmaceutical, medical device, or FMCG environments.
  • Preferred: Strong influencing skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all organisational levels.
  • Preferred: A proactive problem-solving approach and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Preferred: Excellent collaboration and communication skills in multicultural settings.
