Role summary
This is a full-time, on-site Draftsperson position in Auckland. The successful candidate will create detailed technical drawings and plans using CAD or Revit, making sure the documentation aligns with relevant building regulations, standards, and project requirements. The role also involves revising drawings as designs evolve, coordinating with designers and engineers to resolve queries, and maintaining drawing records and files so they are easy to access and manage.
What you will do
- Prepare accurate technical drawings and plans using CAD or BIM tools such as AutoCAD or Revit.
- Develop layout plans, sections, elevations, and detailed drawings for project documentation.
- Update and amend drawings whenever design changes are required.
- Work with designers and engineers to confirm requirements and clarify technical details.
- Organize drawing files and documentation so they can be retrieved quickly and efficiently.
- Support basic measurement checks, site information updates, and quantity take-offs.
- Help the wider project team stay on schedule and keep communication flowing between design and construction stakeholders.
Skills and experience
- Strong drafting ability with hands-on experience in CAD or BIM software.
- Good understanding of construction methods, building codes, and drawing standards.
- High attention to detail, especially when interpreting sketches, dimensions, and technical specifications.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills for working with multiple stakeholders.
- Solid planning and organization skills to manage deadlines across several projects.
- A qualification in drafting, architecture, engineering, or a related discipline is an advantage.
- Experience with residential or commercial projects in New Zealand and knowledge of local requirements is beneficial.
- Ability to work on site in Auckland and adjust to changing project needs in a professional, inclusive environment.
