A Dubai-based construction and contracting company is hiring a Civil Engineer approved by Dubai Municipality for G+1 classification to serve as the technical lead on villa and low-rise building projects. The role is based in Al Quoz, Dubai, and focuses on overseeing site execution, coordinating multiple disciplines, and ensuring compliance from mobilization through handover.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the designated technical engineer for G+1 villa and building works.
• Oversee site activities to confirm that construction follows approved drawings, project specifications, and the Dubai Building Code.
• Ensure adherence to Dubai Municipality rules, permit conditions, and site HSE standards.
• Examine and clear shop drawings, method statements, material submissions, and technical queries.
• Coordinate civil, architectural, structural, and MEP teams to prevent conflicts and delays.
• Address technical site issues and provide workable engineering solutions during execution.
• Track workmanship quality and ensure it meets consultant and project requirements.
• Carry out routine inspections and prepare progress updates, snag lists, and handover records.
• Check quantities, measurements, and completed work for billing and interim certification.
• Keep accurate project records, approvals, RFIs, and all related technical documents.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and government authorities as needed.
• Support Dubai Municipality submissions and respond to technical comments and observations.
• Take part in inspections, testing, commissioning, and final handover activities.
• Monitor project timelines and labour productivity to help achieve milestones.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
• Valid Dubai Municipality G+1 Civil Engineer approval/registration; DM card is mandatory.
• Attested education certificates and experience documents as required by Dubai Municipality.
• Strong understanding of Dubai Municipality regulations, the Dubai Building Code, and construction standards.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Office, and project documentation.
• At least 2 years of relevant civil engineering experience, subject to Dubai Municipality evaluation for entry-level engineer classification.
• Prior exposure to villa construction, building works, renovation, and fit-out projects is preferred.
• Knowledge of coordination across structural, architectural, and MEP disciplines is essential.
• Good communication and coordination skills for dealing with consultants, clients, and subcontractors.
• Ability to handle several site activities at once and work to deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
• Hands-on presence on site daily in Al Quoz and other Dubai locations.
• Membership in a relevant engineering professional body is an advantage.
• Valid UAE driving licence is an advantage.
