Description de l'emploi
About the Opportunity
This is a senior leadership role for a retail supply chain professional who can steer and grow procurement and inventory operations across a multi-location business. The position calls for someone who is both strategic and practical, comfortable working in fast-moving retail settings, and motivated by building strong teams and improving business performance.
Reporting to a senior operations leader, this person will oversee purchasing, inventory control, and pricing, while working closely with retail operations, distribution, finance, sales, and marketing. The role will also help define the organization’s long-range supply chain direction and support expansion across the retail network.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and implement supply chain and procurement plans that support the company’s long-term goals.
- Direct purchasing, inventory management, and pricing activities to maintain product availability, optimize stock levels, and support profitable growth.
- Recruit, coach, and grow a high-performing team while encouraging ownership, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Spot opportunities to enhance processes, systems, controls, and technology throughout the supply chain.
- Set up useful metrics, dashboards, and reports to track operational and financial performance.
- Collaborate with teams in retail operations, distribution, finance, sales, and marketing so supply chain plans match broader business needs.
- Strengthen supplier partnerships and negotiate solutions that improve value, performance, and profitability.
- Improve inventory turnover, service levels, cost control, and procurement results.
- Lead change initiatives and promote best practices across supply chain operations.
- Contribute to workforce planning, succession development, and team growth within the department.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate brings senior-level leadership experience in retail supply chain, purchasing, merchandising, or inventory management. They should have a background in leading large purchasing and inventory operations in a complex, multi-site retail environment.
A post-secondary credential in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field is expected; professional supply chain certifications are considered an advantage.
Strong knowledge of procurement, inventory planning, demand forecasting, supplier management, and operational excellence is important. The role also requires experience with process improvement, system upgrades, and change management.
The successful person will combine strategic thinking with a strong execution focus, along with excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management abilities. Financial and commercial awareness is also essential, including experience with budgets, KPIs, and performance reporting. A collaborative leadership style that builds trust and accountability is key.
Compensation and Benefits
The package includes a base salary of $180,000 to $200,000, along with a bonus, extended health benefits, 4 weeks of vacation, and RRSP matching.
This is a visible role with the chance to help shape the future of a growing retail organization, influence strategic decisions, lead meaningful change, and make a lasting impact. The culture is described as collaborative and people-focused, with an emphasis on teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Eligibility
Applicants must be legally permitted to work in Canada.
