Description de l'emploi
Role overview
PLAYE is seeking a Digital Designer to join an in-house creative team supporting a major Australian retail brand in Sydney. This is a fixed-term, full-time contract running from August 2026 through January 2027, with a hybrid setup that requires three days each week in the office.
The role sits within a fast-moving, high-volume creative environment where digital work spans web, email, social, programmatic, and video. You will contribute to structured campaign production while keeping output tightly aligned to brand guidelines and business goals.
What you will do
- Create polished digital artwork and campaign assets for web, email, social, programmatic, and video channels, ensuring all output follows brand standards.
- Take work from initial concept through to final delivery, including the ability to present ideas, mood boards, and finished solutions with clear reasoning.
- Work with a digital-first and mobile-first mindset, maintaining consistency across every customer touchpoint.
- Keep up with current digital design trends, tools, techniques, and best practices.
- Make sure creative work meets relevant compliance and performance expectations, including SPAM Act requirements and accessibility standards.
- Juggle several projects at once, manage deadlines carefully, and raise any likely blockers early with a practical, solution-oriented approach.
- Partner with marketing, copy, and other internal stakeholders to deliver integrated creative outcomes.
- Work alongside internal or external production specialists such as photographers, retouchers, motion designers, and illustrators when needed.
- Contribute to a collaborative, customer-focused team culture that supports ongoing improvement.
What the employer is looking for
- At least 5 years of experience in a comparable design role; experience in an internal agency environment is preferred.
- Strong ability to interpret detailed briefs and turn them into cohesive digital campaigns.
- Solid capability in visual hierarchy, typography, colour, and composition across digital media.
- Ability to produce engaging visuals for different audiences and communication goals.
- Experience using customer insights and past performance data to guide design and art direction decisions.
- A creative, practical thinker who can generate ideas and solve design problems proactively.
- Deep understanding of accessibility in design, including WCAG guidelines and emerging standards.
- Advanced use of industry tools such as Adobe Creative Suite/Cloud and Figma.
- Interest in new technology, digital platforms, and AI-enabled workflows that can improve production efficiency.
- Strong communication, collaboration, adaptability, resilience, and organisation skills.
- Comfort working strategically, with awareness of commercial impact.
- Motion graphics and animation skills are a plus.
