Role overview
This position is for a design and drafting technologist with Plan IT Packaging Systems Inc. The role is based in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada and must be performed at the company’s physical workplace.

Key duties
- Create engineering designs and technical drawings.
- Draft design sketches and supporting documentation.
- Develop construction specifications, cost breakdowns, and material estimates.
- Write technical reports and prepare written specifications.
- Estimate the materials and costs required for projects.
- Assemble complete documentation packages and drawing sets.
- Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Test machines and equipment as needed.
- Prepare standards, schedules, and related project documents.
- Support the preparation of designs, drawings, and specifications.
- Assist with inspections of mechanical installations and construction work.
- Interpret engineering designs, drawings, and specifications.
- Perform limited mechanical testing and analysis on machines, components, and materials.
Technical knowledge
The role requires working knowledge of computer-aided design tools, including AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
