What the role involves

As Department Manager at a Kmart Aotearoa store, you will lead a team within a busy retail setting and help deliver strong outcomes for customers and the business. The role suits someone who enjoys variety, can make quick decisions, and is comfortable working to clear policies and processes.

What you’ll need

To be successful, you should bring management experience from either a large-format store or another high-volume retail environment. You’ll also need a strong record of coaching people, building capable teams, and creating a positive environment focused on performance, safety, and customers.

• Previous management experience in big-box or high-volume retail.
• Proven ability to coach, motivate, and lead large, varied teams.
• A results-focused mindset with the ability to inspire team performance.
• Strong commitment to safety, customer care, and high standards.
• Ability to build solid relationships with team members, peers, customers, and leaders.
