About the Company
PT Organics Ltd. (PTO) is focused on creating healthy snack options for kids and toddlers. Its organic products are sold throughout the United States across natural, FD&M, conventional, and food service channels. The organization is intentionally small and nimble, and it views its people as the main driver of its success.
Role Overview
The Demand Planner will be responsible for the full demand planning cycle. This includes developing reliable forecasts, working closely with Sales and Marketing, and helping keep the supply chain efficient while protecting service levels and fill rates.
Demand Forecasting & Planning
- Create and refresh a rolling 12 to 18 month statistical forecast for all 40 SKUs on a monthly basis.
- Blend forecast inputs from sales pipelines, marketing activity, seasonality, and new product introductions into the baseline plan.
- Track forecast performance through measures such as MAPE and bias, then drive improvement actions where gaps appear.
- Spot demand indicators such as POS data, customer orders, and distribution shifts, and turn them into practical forecast updates.
Sales & Operations Planning
- Run the monthly demand review as part of the S&OP process and present the agreed forecast to cross-functional leadership.
- Bring Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain into alignment on volume assumptions and business risks.
- Keep a clear, documented demand plan that shows assumptions, risks, and opportunities.
Inventory & Supply Collaboration
- Work with supply planning and procurement teams to convert demand signals into production plans, inventory targets, and distribution requirements planning.
- Support the definition and maintenance of safety stock, reorder points, and SKU-level service targets.
- Review and report inventory health metrics such as stock cover and inventory ageing, and proactively flag likely stock-outs or excess stock with recommended actions.
Promotions & New Product Planning
- Partner with Marketing and Sales to estimate incremental volume from trade promotions, new channel launches, and seasonal programs.
- Prepare pre-event and post-event reviews to strengthen the accuracy of future promotional forecasts.
- Assist with new SKU launches and phase-outs using launch curves, cannibalization estimates, and end-of-life planning.
Data, Reporting & Tools
- Take ownership of demand planning tools and data models, while keeping master data accurate and up to date for every SKU.
- Develop and distribute weekly and monthly KPI dashboards covering forecast accuracy, fill rate, inventory turns, days of supply, and finished goods exposure/aging.
- Use ERP and planning systems to automate standard reporting and exception handling.
- Build Excel-based models for near-term requirements and collaborate cross-functionally to define future demand planning software needs.
Qualifications
Required:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in demand planning, supply chain, or inventory management, with a strong requirement for CPG industry exposure.
- Proven ability to create statistical forecasts and manage a portfolio with multiple SKUs.
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and scenario modeling, along with experience using ERP platforms such as Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, or similar.
- Understanding of S&OP processes and the ability to work effectively across functions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or Statistics.
- Experience working with syndicated data sources such as Spins, Nielsen, IRI, or similar tools.
Preferred:
- Background using demand planning software such as Anaplan, Kinaxis, o9, Blue Yonder, or equivalent platforms.
- Experience with trade promotion management and promotional lift modeling.
- APICS CPIM or IBF CPF certification, completed or in progress.
- Prior experience in a business scaling from $30M to $100M in revenue.
