Role overview
This position focuses on identifying, evaluating, and managing project delay impacts so that delivery timelines stay on track. The role calls for strong analytical ability, sound knowledge of project controls, and hands-on experience with forensic delay assessment.
Key responsibilities
The selected candidate will examine project schedules for delays, disruptions, and time-related impacts, and will apply accepted forensic analysis techniques to support project decisions and claims. The role also involves schedule monitoring, reporting, and coordination with multiple stakeholders.
- Review schedules to detect delays, disruptions, and possible impacts on time.
- Carry out forensic delay assessments using methods such as Time Impact Analysis (TIA), Windows Analysis, As-Planned vs As-Built, and Impacted As-Planned.
- Assess critical path and near-critical activities using CPM techniques.
- Evaluate Extension of Time (EOT) claims and draft detailed delay explanations.
- Examine baseline, revised, and recovery schedules provided by contractors.
- Track progress against approved schedules and key milestones.
- Identify schedule risks and suggest recovery or mitigation actions.
- Contribute to recovery planning and acceleration strategies.
- Prepare delay reports, dashboards, and concise executive summaries.
- Keep complete records of delay events, correspondence, and approvals.
- Support claims, counterclaims, and dispute resolution matters.
- Provide inputs for monthly progress updates and management presentations.
- Coordinate with Planning, Construction, Engineering, Contracts, and Commercial teams.
- Communicate with contractors, consultants, and client representatives.
- Assist with discussions and negotiations relating to delay claims and time extensions.
Candidate profile
This opportunity is suited to professionals with deep experience in project planning and delay analysis, particularly on complex infrastructure environments.
- At least 15 years of experience in planning and delay analysis.
- Background in metro, railway, or other major infrastructure projects is preferred.
- Strong track record in handling EOT claims and delay analysis on large, complex projects.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and in building data-collection databases for Power BI dashboards.
- Power BI experience is an advantage.
- Ability to assess schedule changes and determine their impact.
- Experience with multiple delay-analysis methods and EOT claim evaluation.
- Competence in variance analysis and in drawing actionable insights from data.
- Experience compiling monthly reports and following up with many stakeholders to close review comments.
- Careful review skills to ensure consistency and accuracy across report sections.
- Ability to model what-if scenarios for potential variations or claims.
- GCC experience is an added advantage.
