Key responsibilities
- Keep database performance at a strong level by reviewing, analyzing, and improving indexing strategies and query execution efficiency.
- Set up and apply policies for backups, restores, and data purging across environments such as SQL Server, Oracle, and PostgreSQL.
- Support high-availability setups, including clustering, mirroring, and replication, with the goal of preventing data loss across sites.
- Work with the Service Manager through OpenText SMAX to ensure schema updates and related changes stay aligned with project management workflows.
Qualifications and skills
The role calls for 5 or more years of database administration experience in enterprise settings. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Database Administration, or a related discipline is expected. Professional certifications such as Azure Database Administrator Associate, Oracle Certified Professional, or an equivalent credential are preferred. Strong hands-on capability in advanced SQL scripting, database clustering, performance troubleshooting, and ETL workflows is important.
