BaoMind AI is developing a new-generation nutrition intelligence platform for Africa, grounded in responsible artificial intelligence, reliable data practices, and evidence-based wellness.

Role Overview

The organization is looking for an enthusiastic Data Protection Officer to help build and run a strong privacy and data governance function.

Key Responsibilities

Own and drive the company’s privacy and data protection programme.
Help ensure adherence to the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) as well as broader international privacy requirements.
Create, update, and manage privacy policies, operating procedures, and governance structures.
Carry out Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) where needed.
Provide guidance on AI governance, responsible data use, ethics, and privacy-by-design practices.
Assist with incident management, third-party risk reviews, and regulatory compliance activities.

Preferred Knowledge

Understanding of the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA 2023)
Working knowledge of GDPR basics
Familiarity with the NIST Privacy Framework
Experience applying Privacy by Design principles
Ability to conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs)
Knowledge of AI governance and responsible AI concepts
Awareness of healthcare privacy considerations
Exposure to ISO/IEC 27701
Understanding of vendor risk management
Knowledge of data breach handling and incident response
