The Customer Accounts Manager is responsible for supporting store growth by leading the customer accounts function. The main objective is to meet company expectations for collections and lease renewals while helping customers move toward ownership. The position also involves taking on a range of responsibilities as assigned by the General Manager.
Compensation
The hourly pay range for this position is $14.00 to $16.00. In addition, performance-based incentive pay may be available.
Key accountabilities
- Oversee customer account records, keep information current in the store system, and log payment appointments.
- Support the General Manager with account-related operations such as reviewing recommendations, payment timing, and payment history to ensure accuracy.
- Act as the second-in-command to the General Manager.
- Develop genuine customer relationships that encourage ownership goals and contribute to sales performance.
- Guide the collections process by working with customers on timely lease or merchandise renewals.
- Review and finalize lease agreements, including identity verification, payment collection, and obtaining signatures.
- Reach out to customers who have not renewed merchandise agreements.
- Maintain contact with customers by phone and through home visits.
- Keep customer details updated and accurate.
- Lead the full accounts team toward daily, weekly, and monthly department targets.
- Clean and certify merchandise that is returned and processed through the cleaning station.
- Complete weekly vehicle maintenance logs and daily route sheets.
- Load, secure, and protect merchandise in the company vehicle.
- Operate the company vehicle safely.
- Support the Sales Team when needed.
- Perform other reasonable duties assigned by management.
Skills and strengths needed
Success in this role depends on the ability to build rapport, show empathy, listen carefully, and handle difficult conversations professionally. Strong leadership, organization, multitasking, and negotiation or persuasion skills are important.
Requirements
- Applicants in the United States must be at least 21 years old, hold a valid state driver’s license, and meet the company’s Driver Qualification Policy, including a satisfactory motor vehicle record. In Canada, the minimum age is 18.
- Must satisfy DOT requirements to earn certification in states where it is required in the United States.
- Must be available to work varying shifts between 8:00 am and 9:00 pm.
- Should be able to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance and up to 300 lbs. with a dolly.
- Two years of college or two years of prior management experience is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities are required.
- Must be energetic and able to perform all store functions effectively while multitasking.
- Proper telephone etiquette is expected.
- Must help protect the Aaron’s brand and company assets.
- Professional appearance is required.
- Computer proficiency is required.
