Role overview
Bmedia works with skilled content creators to produce polished, visually strong content for clients across Melbourne. In this contract role, you will take charge of planning, filming, and editing creative assets for social media and marketing campaigns, helping each brand’s story come through clearly and effectively.
The position involves managing content work for as many as 20 clients at once. You will own both the creative direction and the production workflow, making sure all output supports the brand, connects with the right audience, and fits the wider campaign plan.
What you'll do
- Organize and oversee content shoots for the client portfolio, making sure every production supports brand objectives and campaign strategy.
- Shape ideas into practical concepts, shot lists, and storyboards for social and marketing content.
- Support and attend location-based shoots throughout Melbourne, helping coordinate talent, clients, and crew.
- Edit both short-form and longer-form video for channels such as Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
- Keep the look, tone, and message aligned across all client deliverables.
- Deliver edited assets on schedule and in line with project and client timelines.
- Work alongside social media, paid advertising, and influencer teams so the creative direction supports performance outcomes.
- Keep current with platform trends, editing approaches, and new content styles to ensure the output stays modern and relevant.
- Handle asset storage, backups, and version tracking in an organized way.
Skills and experience
- Hands-on background in content production, including planning, shooting, and editing marketing or social media content.
- Solid command of video editing tools.
- Working knowledge of cameras, lighting, and basic audio setup for on-site shoots.
- Comfortable guiding and working with influencers, creators, and clients during production.
- Strong grasp of social media behavior, storytelling, and format requirements across major platforms.
- Good creative taste and an eye for composition.
- Confident with file organization and cloud-based media workflows such as Google Drive, Dropbox, or Frame.io.
- Clear communication style, with the ability to interpret briefs, contribute ideas, and share progress updates.
- Detail-focused and committed to producing clean, brand-consistent final content.
- Self-driven and dependable, with the ability to work independently while coordinating with teams based in Australia and overseas.
Nice-to-have experience
- Experience creating content for hospitality, lifestyle, or fitness brands.
- Ability to produce supporting graphics in tools such as Canva, Photoshop, or Figma.
- Understanding of paid media creative and how visuals perform in Meta, TikTok, and YouTube ads.
- Capability to create UGC-style, creator-led video content.
- Experience directing location shoots or coordinating small production teams.
- Basic knowledge of color grading, audio mixing, and LUT-based workflows.
- Drone photography or videography skills.
- Awareness of brand identity and storytelling across multiple client accounts.
- Genuine interest in emerging social trends, editing styles, and content formats.
