Concrete Plant Operator

Role overview

Hymix Australia is looking for a dependable, safety-minded Concrete Plant Operator to join the Springwood team. The position involves hands-on plant work, yard coordination, stock handling, and support for dispatch and delivery operations.

Key duties

• Use a front-end loader to move materials around the site.
• Complete stock counts for raw materials and other site supplies.
• Coordinate with dispatch and drivers so starts, finishes, and meal or rest breaks run efficiently.
• Keep the yard organised and well maintained.
• Work with allocations to arrange incoming raw material deliveries.
• Carry out minor maintenance tasks on plant equipment.
• Run the concrete plant and support daily production activity.
• Plan fleet use effectively to meet customer requirements while improving productivity, utilisation, and efficiency.
• Track and manage orders so deliveries and products meet quality standards.

What makes a strong fit

This opportunity suits someone who is proactive, happy to take initiative, and comfortable with a role that can involve travel between sites. You should be keen to learn the details of concrete plant operations and basic plant maintenance, and be physically capable of manual work when needed. Mechanical aptitude is an advantage. The role also calls for someone who works well in a small team, can juggle multiple tasks, make sound decisions quickly under pressure, and enjoys solving problems, planning, and troubleshooting.

Requirements

• Reliable transport is required.
• A current Australian driver’s licence is required; P-plate drivers are accepted.
• Ability to perform manual labour when necessary.
• Willingness to learn plant operation and maintenance tasks.
• Comfort working in a small team and handling multiple priorities.
• Mechanical knowledge is highly regarded.
