Role overview
This is an opportunity to join a specialist firm supporting financial services clients with compliance advisory and regulatory work. The role sits at Associate or Manager level and is intended for someone who can guide clients through a demanding regulatory environment with confidence and accuracy.
What you will do
- Support clients and internal teams each day with AML and wider compliance tasks.
- Own client onboarding activities and KYC checks.
- Serve as the main contact point for regulators and ensure required filings and notices are delivered on time.
- Help build and roll out compliance monitoring programmes, including review work to confirm alignment with regulatory rules and internal policies.
- Advise on compliance, AML, and corporate governance matters through training sessions and consultations.
- Act as Compliance Officer, MLRO, and in some assignments possibly Risk Officer as well.
- Keep client files accurate and current, and manage internal performance requirements such as regular timesheet submission.
- Review and manage suspicious activity reporting, working with regulators and financial intelligence units where needed.
- Support the firm's profile by taking part in industry events and preparing content for promotional use.
- Work with senior colleagues to identify, investigate, and resolve compliance and risk issues, while preparing reports and related correspondence.
- Stay up to date with changing regulations and current industry practice through ongoing professional development.
- Assist with outsourcing assignments, project-based work, and authorisations across jurisdictions including ADGM, DIFC, and onshore markets.
- Help prepare proposals and engagement letters for prospective clients.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in compliance, AML, or a regulatory body.
- Strong working knowledge of compliance, AML, and risk management, plus the ability to work independently and shape policies and practices across an organisation.
- An internationally recognised degree or professional qualification is considered an advantage.
- Registration with DFSA, FSRA, or another financial regulator as a responsible individual or MLRO is highly desirable.
- Willingness to complete an AML or Compliance certification within 3 months of joining.
- Ability to handle client relationships well, communicate clearly, and manage expectations realistically.
- Strong organisation skills with the capacity to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines consistently.
- Proactive about tracking regulatory developments and best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including drafting proposals, reports, and client correspondence.
- Sharp attention to detail and the ability to analyse compliance-related data effectively.
