Role overview

Tata Steel is offering a one-year, on-site apprenticeship training opportunity at its Sahibabad unit for eligible candidates. The program is designed as plant-based, hands-on training across different sections of the site and follows the Apprenticeship Act, 1961, along with its later amendments.

Eligibility and qualification

This opportunity is open to pass-out candidates as well as those appearing in 2026, provided their passing year is 2021 or later. Eligible educational backgrounds include B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Metallurgical Engineering, as well as ITI in Fitter, Electrician, or Machinist.

Age criteria

Applicants must fall within the date range of 1 June 2001 to 1 June 2008, inclusive of both dates.

Training structure

The apprenticeship will run for 1 year as on-the-job training at different operational areas of Tata Steel Sahibabad. During the training period, candidates will be registered on the relevant apprenticeship portals: NAPS for ITI candidates and NATS 2.0 for Diploma candidates.

Stipend and funding

Stipend will be paid in line with the Apprenticeship Act and will be shared between Tata Steel Limited and the government according to NATs and NAPs guidelines.

Selection and certification

After completing the one-year training, candidates will go through a written assessment and interview. Based on their performance, they may receive a one-year apprenticeship completion certificate from SNTI.

• Applicants who have already completed, are currently pursuing, or have discontinued apprenticeship training with any other organization are not eligible.
• This program is only a one-year apprenticeship training opportunity and does not create any promise of employment after completion.
• No job commitment, employment guarantee, or employment-right entitlement is associated with the training.
• Candidates must arrange their own accommodation during the training period, as hostel accommodation will not be provided.

Skills and background

Relevant technical knowledge in Mechanical, Electrical, or Metallurgical Engineering, along with practical aptitude for plant operations, is expected.
