Role overview
This contract opportunity is for a Communications Coordinator II focused on running brand communications for a global sportswear organization in Beaverton, Oregon. The assignment runs for more than five months and follows a hybrid schedule with four days each week spent onsite.
The position is suited to a communications professional who enjoys sports, media relations, and brand storytelling in a fast-moving environment.
What you will do
- Create and refine press releases, media documents, and other communication materials.
- Assist with PR initiatives, product introductions, and broader brand programs.
- Help organize media events, interviews, and press-related activity.
- Develop and maintain relationships with media contacts and internal teams.
- Handle several communication projects at once while meeting deadlines in a high-paced setting.
- Contribute to support for major running events and on-site activations.
Required qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a similar discipline.
- 2 to 4 years of experience in Communications, Public Relations, or Brand Communications.
- Background in the sports sector, with running-related experience strongly preferred.
- Strong writing and editorial ability.
- Hands-on experience drafting press releases and external-facing communications.
- Well-developed coordination, planning, and organization skills.
- Comfort using Microsoft Office tools.
Preferred background
- Genuine interest in running and the running community.
- Prior work with a PR agency or event agency.
- Experience supporting well-known consumer or athletic brands.
- Willingness to travel occasionally and provide weekend support for events when needed.

A writing sample, such as a press release or other communications piece, must be included with the application.
Events the role may support include Hood to Coast Relay, Chicago Marathon, and After Dark Tour in Los Angeles.
