Description de l'emploi
Role overview
IRIS Software Group supports organisations with the day-to-day running of their operations, including ensuring that large volumes of employees are paid accurately and on schedule. This position is part of the Paycheck Plus team within Managed Payroll Services, where the team assumes full responsibility for payroll delivery on behalf of external clients. It is a client-facing payroll role rather than an internal payroll position, with direct responsibility for monthly outcomes that matter to clients and their employees.
Why this role is important
Payroll may seem straightforward when everything runs smoothly, but it becomes critical the moment errors occur. In this role, you will manage payrolls across several clients and be accountable for three essential outcomes: accuracy, timeliness, and compliance. Your work directly affects whether employees are paid correctly, whether clients continue to trust the service, and whether long-term relationships strengthen.
Team environment
You will join the Paycheck Plus specialist payroll bureau within Managed Payroll Services. The group includes about 10 experienced Client Payroll Executives and senior team members. Each person manages their own client payroll portfolio, and while support is available when needed, individuals are expected to take ownership of their responsibilities. The team values precision, accountability, and mutual support.
Key responsibilities
- Handle Irish payrolls for multiple clients from start to finish.
- Run monthly payroll cycles accurately and within deadline.
- Carry out payroll calculations, deductions, benefits processing, and reporting tasks.
- Ensure work remains compliant with Irish employment legislation, GDPR, and internal company standards.
- Serve as the primary contact for payroll questions raised by clients and their employees.
- Develop trusted client relationships through consistent and reliable service.
- Look for opportunities to streamline workflows, improve efficiency, and increase automation.
- Take part in broader initiatives such as system enhancements and testing activities.
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate already has experience working in payroll bureau or outsourced payroll environments and is comfortable managing multiple client assignments. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who can work independently, maintain high standards, and communicate clearly with clients.
What we are looking for
- IPASS qualification, or progress toward completing it.
- Proven experience handling Irish payroll end to end.
- Background in managing payrolls for multiple clients.
- Working knowledge of Sage Micropay, payroll journals, CSO returns, and benefits administration.
- Strong command of Excel and Outlook.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong ability to catch errors.
- Professional and clear communication skills.
- Ability to organise your own workload and meet deadlines independently.
- A collaborative attitude and readiness to support teammates when required.
What you will gain
- Responsibility for your own client portfolio.
- A structured payroll setting with defined standards and expectations.
- Exposure to a broad range of clients and payroll situations.
- Support from a team that understands the pressures of payroll delivery.
- Opportunities to contribute to process improvements and better ways of working.
- Career stability and development within a global software and services organisation.
Application process
The hiring process is designed to be transparent and supportive. First, candidates submit an online application with a resume and a few basic details, without lengthy forms. Next comes an initial interview with the Talent team, along with two online assessments: a 15-minute timed CCAT test and an untimed EPP personality questionnaire. The final stage is a competency and technical interview conducted on MS Teams with the Client Payroll Team Leaders.
Additional information
This opportunity is based in Ireland and is a full-time, onsite position. The role focuses on real client payroll delivery with genuine monthly responsibility. The position is suitable for someone experienced in Irish payroll who enjoys working with multiple clients and takes pride in delivering accurate, compliant work supported by a strong team.
